Message from the Artistic Director:
The York Chamber Music Festival is having a one-day event on Saturday September 26th at Bootham School. There will be a lunchtime recital, masterclasses and an evening chamber music concert with some of the finest musicians in the country – a programme is available on the event poster. This event is to promote the festival and to spread the word to people who have so far missed our festival weekends. The core aims of the festival are to bring high quality, international chamber music to York in an annual festival and to develop an outreach programme to local schools, sharing this wonderful repertoire with a new generation of young musicians.
There is an opportunity before this event to become a Friend of the Festival. We would ask you to pay £50 per person for your ticket for the events on September 26th, which would include a drinks reception before the evening concert. This would help to raise funds for the future so we can continue to establish the festival, but also will mean we can build a network of supporters and be in touch with you about the exciting programme of concerts and other events planned over the next few years. In future we will develop the Friend’s programme to include meeting the artists, discounted tickets, a newsletter and pre-concert talks with annual membership subscription.
I have created a form for you to fill in if you would like to become a Friend of the Festival – it is available to download here. We’d be very grateful if you want to get involved and I’m sure you will love the concerts and classes on September 26t.h.
If being a Friend of the Festival doesn’t appeal to you, we hope you can join us for the event anyway to enjoy some breath taking performances of some stunning music.
We are Registered Charity (number 1161416).
